Volkswagen Routan (2008): first official pictures

Based on a Chrysler Grand Voyager the Routan is over five metres long and will use the American car’s engines. Flavia Garcia has cracked the code that transmits between VW’s luxury cars – like Bentleys and Porsches – and the key fob, which potentially fatally compromises VW’s security. Garcia had planned to publish his paper on the fatal flaws in the Megamos Crypto system at the Usenix Security Symposium in Washington next month, but a judge has put the kybosh on that.

Hospital car park staff to wear CCTV cameras

STAFF AT A HOSPITAL car park are being kitted out with personal CCTV cameras in a bid to combat a rapid rise in violence and aggression towards them. NHS Lothian said staff working in car parks at St John's Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian, have been subjected to verbal and physical abuse from angry motorists in recent weeks. One attendant was hit with a walking stick and another had a car driven at them during the recent spate of incidents.
